The festival of lights is coming back for its fourth season and, of course, Michael Moore is returning to host.
Moore, who was honored by the Los Angeles Times for his role in “Fahrems End,” will join a cast that includes Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Sheen, Kate Winslet, Mark Ruffalo, and Tom Hanks.
Moore will be joined by producer Alex Karpeles, who is also a producer on the festival of light.
The film, which is based on Moore’s bestselling book, “Festival,” premiered at Sundance in January and earned rave reviews from critics.
“Families will enjoy the story of a family’s struggle to survive amid the terror of a world without electricity, gas, water, or electricity,” the festival website says.
“This award-winning film tells the story in a way that will resonate with the people who will come see it and the people that will go see it.”
Moore is also starring in “Carnival,” the third instalment of the “Fantasyland” series that he co-wrote and directed with writer John Lasseter.
“Cavaliers of the Night,” which will also air on the cable channel, is based loosely on the novel by the same name.
It will also star “Coraline,” which stars Jason Segel and Kate Winslett.
“We’re really excited to be working with Michael Moore, and the festival is a great opportunity to showcase his talents,” said Kristine Caulfield, president and chief content officer of the Los Altos Film Center.
“His films have captivated audiences around the world, and we hope that fans can get the chance to see them and share in the magic of ‘Famously Fond’ in a world where we are all too often unable to have the fun we want to enjoy.”
