FERGUSON, Ga.
— When Daisy FarmCraft began, the owner of the Georgia craft craft beer brewery had no idea she was about to become the country’s first certified organic farm-to-table food company.
But her vision soon grew to encompass the entire country and her mission to bring organic food to as many people as possible.
Now, Daisy Farm Craft is the only certified organic craft brewery in the country.
And the company is taking off with a business model that has helped the craft beer industry grow and thrive over the past decade.
The craft beer sector in the U.S. has grown from $3.6 billion in 2011 to $20.5 billion in 2017, according to a report by the Brewers Association, and it has nearly tripled in size since 2010, to more than 1.2 million craft breweries.
This boom, coupled with the economic downturn, has been the driving force behind many craft breweries to create and launch a brand new business model, said Dan Lebron, executive director of the Brewers and Ale Association, which represents more than 2,500 craft breweries across the U
