How big is the NHL?
Is it bigger than the World Cup?
How much do the big teams in the NHL spend?
All these questions were answered in a new book by The Hockey Writers, a website run by former NHL writer Peter Chiarelli, and co-authored by Chiarello.
The Hockey Writers is a collection of some of the most influential writers in hockey, including Joe Simpson, Mike Milbury, Craig Custance, Chris Johnston, Mike Modano and many more.
Chiarellas book will be released on March 2, and we asked the author what the most important thing to him was when he wrote it.
“The thing that’s been on my mind ever since I started writing was how big the NHL is,” he said.
“I mean, I know the world of sports.
I’ve covered the Olympics, I’ve been in the NFL, I’m a writer for Hockey Night in Canada, I was an intern at The Washington Post, I wrote for Sports Illustrated.
I was a big hockey fan growing up.
I love watching the game.
The thing that got me thinking about this is that every year there’s a lot of talk about the NHL and what it’s going to do for the world, but the truth is the only thing the NHL does for the NHL are the jobs that it creates.
So if you’re not a fan of hockey, it’s because you’re either a fan that’s not a hockey fan or you’re a fan and don’t know it.”
In his book, The Hockey Writer, Chiarella says he’s been lucky enough to get into hockey because it’s a sport that’s embraced him.
“I’ve been lucky to be part of a sport where there’s so much talent, it is an incredibly competitive sport,” he wrote.
“The hockey is great, the players are great, but it’s not really about winning, it was more about winning a job.
The only job that is worth getting paid to do is playing the game and it’s never been about winning.
I think that’s why we’re lucky.
Hockey is a great sport that really has a lot to offer, and I think there’s probably a lot more people who have a passion for it than there are people who are fans of the game.”
